About
Jarin Moriguchi is a Chicago-based graphic designer and multidisciplinary artist from Honolulu. His work is inspired by speculative fiction, cinematic world-building, alternative forms of publication, and good books that he reads. He investigates themes of internet culture and corruption by playing on visual languages of meme literacy, government surveillance, corporate branding, and chatbots.
Current projects include designing artist publications and cool PDFs with new and long-time collaborators for the unofficial Workers Comp enterprise, challenging form and legibility through custom typography, and researching + writing about ideologies and subcultures bred from internet addiction.
His extracurricular time is spent patiently practicing minimalist living, making the case for PDFs to be taken more seriously, eating tofu curry, and reading elaborate sci-fi fantasy.
As an enthusiastic collaborator and passionate worker, Jarin has worked as a designer for university programs, studios, and freelance clients nationwide; and has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Honolulu and Chicago.
